NOTHINGWEB: WORDS

Cold

This year I returned to Alaska. The last great frontier. I was in a much different head space this year than my previous trip. This time, I had just quit a stable job for a chance at a new opprotunity doing contracting for the government. I was going to be leaving the stability behind to try and make an intimidating career shift. While we were in the air, the tragic DC plan crash happened. Pretty much everyone on our flight found out at the same time. It was hard to describe the feeling of the rest of the trip. We thankfully landed safely.

Ever since I got back to Ohio, I have been thinking about Alaska. Most of the people we met there were transplants from other states who were captured by the call of this amazing state. We visited the museum of the north. Ate amazing food and experienced temps down to -31f. Somehow, though, Ohio feels colder.

I turned 31 years old in the air on the way back from Alaska.
